The Downers Grove Public Library Foundation invited John to speak about his mural, "Soaring", at the foundation's fundraising event "Art after Dark" (Oct 2025) at Downers Grove Library. Many of those folks who observed the work in progress in 2017 stopped by to say hello. They were so excited to talk to John and ask questions about the concept, creation and what it was like to work on the mural only during public.
